Roland Unveils High Performance Inkjet Printers

Hamamatsu, Japan. September 10, 2002 Roland DG Corporation today introduced the Hi-Fi JET PRO II 54" wide-format digital printer. It joins the all-new PRO II family of inkjet devices, which include the CAMMJET PRO II printer/cutter and SOLJET PRO II printers and printer/cutter.

The Hi-Fi JET PRO II can print up to 28 m²/hr (300 sqft/hr). That's not draft mode! Roland developed this unique, sign-quality print mode especially for sign, exhibit and POP makers. One inch wide, advanced Piezo print heads are loaded with 360 nozzles. Printing a large 1.3 x 5 m banner now takes only 14 minutes. The Hi-Fi JET PRO II can even achieve true 1440 dpi x 1440 dpi resolution for fine art and photography.

Revolutionary RIP Software

Included with all PRO II inkjet devices, Roland SelectColor™ RIP (RSC) is loaded with features that make it fast and easy to produce graphics. RSC offers simultaneous RIP & Print capability and several powerful layout options, including automatic/manual nesting, tiling and grouping.

RSC also features Intelligent Print Control™ — a powerful color calibration tool that can automatically determines the optimum dot size, dot combinations, dot placement, tone curve, and the proper amount of ink for each individual media. Designers simply select the ideal print mode, and RSC does the rest. This state-of-the-art technology delivers truly uncompromising quality for the most discerning applications, even for high-speed printing. The PRO II even connects to an office network to enhance the efficiently.
