Roland Introduces Environmental Product
Labeling System

Hamamatsu, Japan, August 29, 2007. — Roland DG Corporation, a leading worldwide provider of wide-format inkjet printers and integrated print/cutters, today introduced a new environmental labeling system for the company's products which will go into effect September 1, 2007.

Roland DG's new "eco-labels" are based on standards stipulated by ISO 14021 for Type II environmental labeling and certify that Roland products comply with the company’s internal environmental standards.

Products certified by Roland's new eco-labels are required to meet the following criteria:

1. Prevent global warming
2. Use recyclable resources
   
3. Increase environmental awareness
   
4. Disclose information on the environmental aspects of the product

Roland DG's new AdvancedJET AJ-740, SOLJET PRO III XJ-740 and SOLJET PRO III XJ-640 wide-format printers are the first products to be accredited with the eco-labeling system. The company will apply this eco-label system to all future products.

Roland DG first established environmental policies in August 1999 and was ISO 14001 certified in February 2000. The company has been working diligently and systematically to reduce the environmental impact of its products and manufacturing processes. Roland DG has procedures in place throughout the design process that introduce life cycle assessment (LCA) and promote the development of products that are environmentally conscious.
