Environmental Management Program
3. Achieving Zero Emissions
Reduction of Environmental Audit Incineration Waste and Waste Plastic
Our goal to Achieve zero emissions* 1 at a waste recycling ratio of 99%
or more (excluding cafeteria scraps and human waste) within three years
was realized at the end of March 2007 with a recycling ratio of 99.3%,
two years after beginning in April 2005. We were able to achieve zero
emissions one year ahead of schedule as a result of all employees
promoting the sorting, decomposition, separation, and recycling of
waste. The zero emissions activities to reduce the environmental burden
will continue in the future.
*1: Zero Emissions: The concept of integrated industries in which the
goal is to form a resource-recycling
society through the recycling of waste that was exhausted from an
industry as raw material by another
industry to achieve zero waste.
